Rather than force-feeding you with endless facts, our training helps you to understand the machine, understand vibration, and understand the analyzer.  Using  3D animations and software simulators enable you to see inside the machine so that the vibration and faults make perfect sense, coupled with real life examples and trainers with over 20 years engineering experience.

Public and on-site training

All you have to do is decide how you would like to learn: live training with an instructor (public or on-site course), self-paced computer-based training, or a combination of them both. Also whether you want to just brush up on your current skill or take a certified ISO -ASNT or BINDT certified exam (Vibration Only)

Vibration Analysis Introduction - Overview

Vibration Analysis Introduction Training:

Quick facts

Vibration Analysis Cat I - Overview

Vibration Analysis Training: ISO Category I + ASNT Level I

The course exceeds the ISO 18436-2 Category I standard and meets the ASNT Level I Recommended Practice. The certification exam can be taken after the course.

Duration:

4 days including optional Mobius or BINDT ISO 18436-2 certification exam on the fourth day

 

Vibration Analysis Cat II - Overview

Vibration Analysis Training: ISO Category II + ASNT Level II

The course exceeds the ISO 18436-2 Category II standard and meets the ASNT Level II Recommended Practice. The certification exam can be taken after the course.

5 days including optional Mobius or BINDT ISO 18436-2 certification exam on the fifth day

Vibration Analysis Cat III - Overview

Vibration Analysis Training: ISO Category III + ASNT Level III

The course exceeds the ISO 18436-2 Category III standard and meets the ASNT Level III Recommended Practice (for vibration analysis). The certification exam can be taken after the course.  (Note: The ASNT Level III exam can only be administered by the ASNT.)

Alignment Advanced

When hands-on training is combined with the famous Mobius Institute 3D animations and simulations, you know that you will enjoy a course that will leave you ready to take on any alignment challenge. You will develop an intuitive feel for the alignment system because you understand the fundamentals and you have had a change to practice and ask questions.

Alignment Introduction

If you need a refresher course, or you want to know what shaft alignment is all about, then this one-day course is ideal. With a walk through alignment benefits and methods, combined with hands-on exercises, your understanding and appreciation of shaft alignment will skyrocket.

Balancing Course

Balancing is vitally important.  A precision balanced machine exerts less stress on its bearings and structural components, which means it will run longer without requiring maintenance.  Modern vibration analyzers provide the means to perform the balance, but there is a lot to learn in order to be successful.

On-site training

The following course is  delivered on-site.  The advantage of onsite training has the oppertunity to include real world scenarios and practical demonstrations.

Diagnosing Faults in Electric Motors - Overview

Quick facts

This course will provide attendees with a very solid understanding of how induction motors, synchronous motors, and DC drives work, and how the VFD controllers work.  The course will discuss typical failure modes and a wide variety of diagnostic techniques including spectrum analysis, time waveform analysis, and motor current signature analysis.  In case your vibration analysis skills are a little rusty, the course will provide an introduction to the key concepts which must be understood; all use Mobius animations and simulators.  Trainees will also learn how their condition monitoring programs can be adjusted in order to better detect the fault conditions.  A range of case studies will be used throughout the course.

Bearing Fault Diagnosis

Quick facts

Rolling element bearings keep our machines turning - or at least that is what we expect them to do - the sad reality however is that only 10% of rolling element bearings reach their design lifetime!  If this is true then what does it mean for us in terms of maintenance costs, planned and unplanned downtime, the cost of replacing bearings and the possibility of catastrophic failures and accidents? What does this statistic imply in terms of the overall reliability of our plant?

There are two important aspects of bearings that we must be aware of: bearing wear and bearing care.  How do we extend the life of our bearings and how do we know when they are failing? Our hope is that by the end of the course you will see the 10% lifetime statistic as an opportunity for improvement and you will go home intent on keeping those bearings turning!

Improving Reliability and Utilising Condition Monitoring Training:
